Administration Burnout
It's not just teachers feeling burned out; school administrators are also starting to leave education. According to an article by Mark C. Perna, "nearly half (46%) of district superintendents planned to leave within two or three years...."
Perna cites research from the RAND Corporation. The study sample comprised approximately "300 randomly selected leaders working in state and charter organizations." It found that going into the 22'-23 academic year; there was an increase in principals leaving their jobs; of note were those in "high-poverty and rural schools districts" (Superville, 2023).
